If you think that you have a broken bone in your foot, we can get you in the same day for treatment. We have two X-ray options availability in our office. A digital X-ray or our on-site fluoroscopy. Fluroscopy is a type of x-ray where we can see (real time) bones moving in your foot instantly and get you treated immediately.
If you feel you have a broken bone in your foot, you may wait hours in the Emergency Room and then be sent to a Podiatrist or Foot Specialist
Why not get faster treatment, wait less, and see a Foot Specialist immediately?
Our foot specialists are experts in all kinds of foot problems including fractures, sprains, and tendon injuries. We start out with conservative treatment first and then if necessary will follow with surgical treatment.
You will find that our Wappingers Falls office is centrally located in Dutchess County and is easy to get to from just about anywhere in the Hudson Valley.
Not every Broken Bone comes from an injury
A Stress Fracture is a broken bone that comes from overuse. You can just be walking a lot more than usual and the bone can be stressed and eventually break. The break can be a hairline fracture often not visible on an x-ray.
Stress fractures are usually seen when:
- You start a new job that requires a lot of walking
- You go on a vacation to an amusement park walking a lot more than usual
- You start a new exercise routine trying to get into shape
Anything that suddenly increases how much you walk can create a stress fracture in your foot.
Sometimes these stress fractures do not show up on an x-ray until two weeks after the pain starts. Frequently, we will see patients who are sent for an x-ray that shows nothing is wrong.
If we suspect a stress fracture, we may order an MRI for you which is able to detect these injuries long before an x-ray can.
